Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
According to the 2010-2011 Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security annual report, the agency installed 24 automated license plate readers: https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/safety/documents/10-11AnnualReport.pdf
I request all contracts, licenses, MOUs, MOAs, Scope of Work, and other agreement documents for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security's use of license plate readers. Please search for all potential vendors which include but are not limited to Motorola, Vigilant Solutions, ELSAG, or Flock Safety.
This request was initially submitted to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security but, upon review, that office informed me that I needed to direct this request to the Department of General Services.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Hoover,
I'm in receipt of your fax dated May 3, 2023 regarding your request for public records from the Department of General Services. And I understand this is a follow up to your request submitted on January 31, 2023. (attached)
As I stated in my last correspondence, the Department of General Services uses an online portal to process these requests.
Please submit your request using this online form, which also requires you to provide proof of residency, which is required as a condition that must be met prior to inspecting or receiving copies of Public Records.

Please be sure to include sufficient detail as to the items you're requesting. We do provide a two-hour threshold for gathering records. If your request requires more time than that, we will notify you ahead of collecting the data and provide you with an estimate of the costs involved.
