Communications
From: William Pate
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
On November 6, 2019, I requested documents from the Texas Department of Transportation. After waiting for and receiving an Attorney General opinion requiring release of requested information, TXDoT has refused to provide it. This letter reiterates my original request with emphasis on the agency's current status as in violation of state open records law. Please send me this information immediately. This letter also adds a request for all releasable communications regarding that original request, with the understanding an AG opinion will likely be sought before release. It is clear from the agency's refusal to release the information thus far that it is in the public interest it be made freely available.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
William Pate
