The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Mr. Hudson:

Thank you for contacting the Office of the Texas Secretary of State (the "Office"). Please note that we need some clarification to complete your request.

First, are you only requesting communications to or from individuals in the Office's Election Division and not in any other Division of the Office searched using the search term "fraud"?

Second, is your request for "communications" limited only to "emails, text messages, or memos", and accordingly, does not include any other types of documents, such as filled out forms or letters or other documents? If your understanding of "communications" includes other documents besides "emails, text messages, or memos," please specifically identify those types of documents.

Please note that under Section of 552.222 of the PIA, if you do not respond in writing to this request for clarification within sixty one days of this communication, your request for information is deemed by Texas law to be withdrawn.
Regards,

Lindsey (Wolf) Aston
General Counsel
Texas Secretary of State
