Mr. Skelding,

The request that you reference in your below message, UT Austin ORR no. 2477, was identified as a duplicate of ORR no. 2476 on the date it was received and as a result was immediately administratively closed. We sent a final response to ORR no. 2476 on January 13, 2022, which stated as follows:

Relevant authority, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), 20 U.S.C §1232g, prohibits The University from admitting or denying whether there is information responsive to this request.

Because these requests ask for all emails sent to, from, or copying a particular student worker’s email address and because your requests did not include a signed release from the student authorizing you to receive copies of their education records, FERPA prohibits The University from admitting or denying whether information responsive to the requests exists. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me directly at bob.davis@austin.utexas.edu<mailto:bob.davis@austin.utexas.edu>. Thanks!
