Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

All available data by unit (http://tdcj.state.tx.us/unit_directory/) regarding individuals held in the following solitary confinement (or equivalent) conditions:

• administrative segregation
• single-cell status
• management status
• pre-hearing detention
• pre-transfer detention
• cell restriction
• special cell restriction

Please include all available non-segregable data, including, but not limited to, the date on which the individual entered segregation, the nature of the offense that resulted in segregation or a special housing status, whether the individual has been held in segregation prior to this event, the total number of days the individual has spent in segregation during incarceration, the unit in which the individual is being held, any security threat group or gang related status associated with the individual, the individual's race/gender/age, the date on which the individual is expected to leave segregation status, any other available information.

Please provide all available reports, including any reports related to the recidivism of the individual, whether the individual is slated for release from prison during the term confined to a special housing unit, etc.

This request is being made as part of an ongoing journalistic investigation. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
