Hello Rebecca,

Does the 68,000 number include duplicate copies of the same email distributed to multiple officers? If so, would it be possible to de-duplicate these by either combining all recipients of each email into the Recipient column or removing that column altogether?

Thank you,
Rose

This letter is to clarify what information you are seeking from the Tukwila Police Department.
We are able to produce an index with more than 60,000 items that contains the majority of the information you requested. There are two options for producing the data.  Can you please let me know which option you prefer?
1. Research each item line listed to ensure there isn't any information that needs redacted per WAC. This will be a long and slow process.
2. Redact the subject when a name is mentioned and provide the results. This will be a quicker option.
If you would like the department to proceed with your public information request, please provide clarifications within thirty (30) days from 07/15/2024.  Otherwise, the Tukwila Police Department will consider your request withdrawn.
You may provide a response to the department by any of the following methods:

We did not receive your response as you are responding from an email that is not associated with the email/account that was used to submit the request via GovQA. Please also note, that the Public Records Act does not require us to create a document that does not exist. If the records you are requesting are not already available in Excel format, we produce any applicable records in the format in which we have them stored.

From: Tukwila Police Department

Disregard, the email is correct. I am not sure why your responses are not going through or why you’re not receiving ours. To ensure that no communication is missed, I highly recommend logging into the GovQA account to send/review any messages.

The department has reviewed your request and has determined that some or all of the records requested are exempt from disclosure under the Public Records Act for the following reasons:06a Investigative, Law enforcement, crime victims RCW 42.56.240(1) Specific intelligence information and investigative records are exemption from disclosure.

Please note there are black boxes (redactions) on various pages of the responsive documents. The black box may be small or large, depending on the size of the redaction. There may be multiple redactions on a page. Within the redaction is a white code, which will look something along the lines of “Redacted Text [1a].” This code designates the statutory exemption being applied to the document.
