This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All documents that have been or will be released in response to FOIA requests 11-OIA-0017 and 11-OIA-0019.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Smathers:

This letter acknowledges receipt of your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), dated 4 May, 2011. You are seeking all documents that have been or will be released in response to FOIA requests 11-OIA-0017 and 11-OIA-0019.

Provisions of the Act allow us to recover part of the cost of complying with your request. We shall charge you for records in accordance with the DHS FOIA regulations as they apply to non-commercial requestors. As a non-commercial requestor you will be charged 10-cents a page for duplication, although the first 100 pages are free, as are the first two hours of search time. As per your request, you will be contacted before any fees are accrued.

Attached please find the partial release to FOIA Case 11-OIA-0017 as requested in inquiry referenced above. Unfortunately FOIA Case 11-OIA-0019 was denied in full so there are no responsive records to release.
