Dear Ben Welsh:

I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request
of July 9, 2024, for records in the custody of the National Archives and
Records Administration. Your request was received in this office on July
10, 2024 and assigned FOIA tracking number *RD 87385*.

*157-HQ-13934*

You requested access to FBI file 157-HQ-13934 on “Leo Stanley Berry”. My
initial assessment is that “Leo Stanley Berry Jr.” is the subject of the
records, compiled as part of a Civil Unrest investigation, created between
June 1969 and August 1973, and consisting of an estimated 50 pages.

*44-HQ-44880*

You requested access to the FBI file number 44-HQ-44880 on “Leo Berry,
Civil Rights”. My initial assessment is that “Leo Berry, Civil Rights” is
the subject of the records, compiled as part of a Civil Rights
investigation, created between February 1970 and April 1970, and consisting
of 44 pages.

These records require review for information protected from release under
the FOIA: https://www.archives.gov/foia/foia-guide#determine.

The estimated total page count for your request is 94 pages. Your request
does not exceed 700 pages, so it is assigned to our first-tier processing
queue. Taking into consideration our existing backlog, we estimate it will
take 39 months to complete processing.

Once we notify you that processing is complete, you may either visit our
College Park, MD facility to view the file at no cost, or order a
reproduction. Our current fee for reproductions is 80 cents per page, so we
estimate the total cost will be $75.20.

You must notify this office of changes to your contact information. If
communication is returned as undeliverable and no return address is
provided, your case will be administratively closed. To change your contact
information or to track the status of your request, please email
specialaccess_foia@nara.gov or call 301-837-3190. Please include your FOIA
tracking number in all communications concerning this request.

*44-HQ-1855*

You requested access to case file number 44-HQ-1855, identified by the FBI
as potentially responsive to your request for records relating to “Leo
Stanley Berry”.

The file is on “Earl Guy, Inmate, Minnesota State Prison”, created between
January 1948 and January 1950. Based on my initial evaluation, this file is
deemed unresponsive to your request because “Leo Stanley Berry” is not the
subject of the file. If we do not receive a response from you within ninety
(90) calendar days from the date of this letter to indicate you believe the
records are responsive, we will administratively close your case.

*100-HQ-225892*

You requested access to case file number 100-HQ-225892, identified by the
FBI as potentially responsive to your request for records relating to “Leo
Stanley Berry”.

The file is on “Committee on Racial Equity”, created between November 1943
and May 1979. Based on my initial evaluation, this file is deemed
unresponsive to your request because “Leo Stanley Berry” is not the subject
of the file. If we do not receive a response from you within ninety (90)
calendar days from the date of this letter to indicate you believe the
records are responsive, we will administratively close your case.

If you are not satisfied with our action on this request, you have the
right to file an administrative appeal within ninety (90) calendar days
from the date of this letter. Appeals must be in writing and may be
delivered by regular U.S. mail or by email. By filing an appeal, you
preserve your rights under the Freedom of Information Act and present the
deciding agency with an opportunity to review your request and reconsider
its decision. If you submit your appeal by regular mail, it should be
addressed to the Deputy Archivist of the United States (ND), National
