RE: Freedom of Information Act Request
As you have repeatedly been advised, in response to any and all Freedom of Information Act requests, the United States Capitol Police, as a legislative branch entity, is not an “agency” as defined by 5 U.S.C. §§ 551 et seq., under the Freedom of Information Act. Therefore, the USCP is not subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act.
Please also be advised that this response applies to any and all future Freedom of Information Act requests from your organization.
From: Christina L. Urso
Just because your not an "agency" does not mean you shouldn't want to be transparent with the American people, especially regarding a major case that is galvanizing public opinion.
Thank you for your response.
