From: T. McElwee
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of the catalog of the DEA Museum with all items that have an accession number.
That is, a list of objects kept by the DEA Museum where the accession number is a unique identifier for an object (e.g., "1997.1.614"), a name for the object (e.g., "DEA Special Agent Badge"), information pertinent to its display or safekeeping (e.g., physical dimensions), and a descriptive text. I request all form fields to all objects, regardless of whether they are used for public display.
I wish to specify that if the responsive document is a database or spreadsheet, then a copy should be provided in an appropriate machine readable filetype such as comma separated value (.csv) file.
If the catalog is another electronic file format (such as Word file) or only on paper, then and only then should it be returned in PDF.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
T. McElwee

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on May 18, 2022. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.

To whom it may concern:
On 05/18/2022, I sent a FOIA request ("Catalog of DEA Museum objects with accession numbers") to the email address DEA.FOIA@usdoj.gov. It has come to my attention that the DEA is now listing its FOIA address as DEA.FOIA@dea.gov.
I am therefore re-sending the request to this new email address. However, for further reference, I would liket to know if the @usdoj.gov email is still functional, and if so I would appreciate an acknowledgment.

To Whom It May Concern,
On 5/18/2022, I submitted the below request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Despite my correspondence (also included below), I have received no acknowledgement of my request and it has not been given a final determination nor have I been furnished an estimated completion date.
As twenty working days have elapsed without a substantive determination, I am appealing the constructive denial of my request, and asking for a determination that the agency must respond to my request, providing the documents or outlining reasons that they are exempt.
Best,
T. McElwee
