Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Communication between the blockchain surveillance provider Chainalysis and the Dept of Treasury notifying the Dept of Chainalysis' recent correction of laundered cryptocurrency funds attributed to North Korea/DPRK from $1B down to $660M (please find the corresponding statement here: https://www.chainalysis.com/blog/crypto-hacking-stolen-funds-2025/)
As an independent journalist I asked that all fees be waived.
Please note that the records requested are supplemental to information already in the public domain. Under Executive Order 13526, Section 1.7, classified information that is already publicly available or improperly classified to conceal violations of law, inefficiency, or administrative error cannot be withheld under Exemption 1.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
