To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting the following information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) related to the 2023 Chinese Spy Balloon Incident:

Communication logs between the FAA and other agencies or organizations regarding the incident, including any emails, memos, or other forms of correspondence.

Any documents related to the FAA's investigation of the incident, including any incident reports, technical analyses, or other documentation.

Any information related to the Chinese spy balloon's flight path, altitude, and other flight characteristics during the incident.

Any information related to the FAA's response to the incident, including any actions taken to mitigate the potential risk to national security.

As you may be aware, on January 28, 2023, a Chinese spy balloon was reportedly detected flying in US airspace, and it remained in the air until February 4, 2023. The incident has raised serious concerns about the potential for foreign entities to conduct espionage activities on US soil, and I believe that the FAA's response to this incident is of critical public interest.

I am requesting this information in order to better understand the scope and impact of the incident and to identify potential areas for improvement in the FAA's response to similar incidents in the future.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jordan
