This force may also be a part of the Cybersecurity Round table or the SEC.gov | Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations.

Specifically, I am looking for documents that show how the SEC cybersecurity personal fit into the SEC's organization chart, the positions, and salary of all SEC staff assigned or partially assigned to cybersecurity, as well as the entire SEC budgets for cybersecurity actions for both the previous and forward looking years.

  • FOIA Response 15-02059-FOIA (SEC's Cyber Security Task Force)

From: Ovall, Jeffery L.

Good morning, Mr. Amarel.

We need to clarify a couple items concerning a FOIA request you submitted to the SEC on February 21, 2015, seeking "documents from within the planning and implementation stage of the SEC recently initiated Cybersecurity task force."

* Because your request did not cite an agreement to pay associated processing fees absent a fee waiver, please email us your agreement to pay up to a certain amount, for example $100. By letter dated March 24, 2015, we denied your request for a fee waiver and explained to you the type of fees for which you would be responsible as a "media" requester.

* To be clear, the last item in your request asks for "any documents, contracts, proposals, invoices, or budgets for 3rd party cybersecurity contractors that may assist the SEC." Does this portion of your request apply to the "Cybersecurity task force" mentioned in the beginning of your request?

Please respond no later than April 1, 2015, or we will assume you are no longer interested in this FOIA request.

Sincerely,

Jeff Ovall

I believe information is withheld, specifically, in regards to the total number of people within the cybersecurity enforcement division.

I believe there is substantially more information and documents that meet the original request but were not provided.

With this in mind, I respectfully appeal and request that additional searches be conducted for responsive documents.
