This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records: I would like copies of all tweets deleted by the Benefits Administration of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (@VAVetBenefits) from October 2009 to the present. This would include any tweets sent out on Twitter that were deleted or kept in draft form from the Twitter account @VAVetBenefits. This request also would include copies of any e-mails or correspondence regarding the drafting and deletion of these tweets.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

I am a journalist whose works have appeared in Slate, the Massachusetts Review, VICE, and elsewhere. This FOIA request is part of research for an ongoing piece of journalistic work, and as such, I am requesting a fee waiver. I have submitted versions of this FOIA request to other agencies, including the Office of Government Ethics, and in the process, I have been granted this fee waiver without question.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Muira McCammon
