This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Copies of all correspondence, written or electronic, exchanged between Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos (including any of her office's staff) and U.S. President Donald J. Trump (including any of her office's staff) concerning a "Dear Colleague" letter about the treatment of transgender students in public schools that was sent in May 2016. A copy of that letter can be found at this link:

The requested records include any emails, documents, or other forms of correspondence exchanged between the Department of Education and the U.S. Attorney General that pertains to the status, enforcement, and/or potential cancellation of the directives contained in the aforementioned "Dear Colleague" letter.

Please limit this request to records dated between January 20, 2017 and February 28, 2017.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
