To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
- All use-of-force incident reports in the FBI's National Use of Force Data Collection database where the one of the values for the data element "force_type_ids" is "Canine".
For assistance in locating these records, the Use-of-Force Incident Report JSON layout include the data element "force_type_ids" and "Canine" as one data value for that element, according to to technical specifications on the National Use-of-Force Data Collection Program (https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/ucr/use-of-force-flat-file-bulk-load-tech-spec.pdf/view). I am specifically requesting all incident reports where the data values of "force_type_ids" includes "Canine".
I would prefer these incident reports in json or another machine-readable format.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
CJ Ciaramella
