This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All current contracts that the Federal Elections Commission has for online legal research, and/or information services, with LexisNexis and Accurint; and, all purchase orders, delivery orders, and/or any modifications or amendments issued to LexisNexis for online legal research and/or information services, from July 2013 until the date this request begins to be processed.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Carter:

This letter responds to your request for information from the Federal
Election Commission (FEC) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA),
dated and received by the FEC?s FOIA Requester Service Center April 7,
2014. You requested:
All current contracts that the Federal Elections Commission has for online
legal research, and/or information services, with LexisNexis and Accurint;
and, all purchase orders, delivery orders, and/or any modifications or
amendments issued to LexisNexis for online legal research and/or
information services, from July 2013 until the date this request begins to
be processed.

The FEC does not have any current contracts for online legal research
and/or information services with LexisNexis or Accurint, nor has the
Agency had any such contracts during the period from July 2013 to present.
Accordingly, we do not have documents responsive to your request, and are
denying the request.

You may appeal any adverse FOIA determination. Any such appeal must be
filed in writing and should follow the guidelines set forth in 11 C.F.R. ยง
