Any discussion within or on part of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) or their members or their staffs—including emails and meeting minutes—since January 20, 2017, regarding a potential merger between Whole Foods (Whole Foods Market Inc.) and Amazon (Amazon.com, Inc.). More specifically, I am seeking official communications about the planned purchase of Whole Foods by Amazon, as reported widely in the media in June 2017, including any relevant communications between FTC or DOJ members or staff on one hand and White House staff on the other.

I am submitting the request in my capacity as the news editor for VICE.com, a consumer-facing journalism publication that is part of VICE Media, LLC.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
