To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Copies of all final reports on closed investigations in 2023 and 2024.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Alexa Gagosz

From: Department of Housing and Urban Development Inspector General

Dear Ms. Gagosz,

Your request for all closed reports of investigation (ROI) covering a two-year period is overly broad and unduly resource intensive to process without asking you to narrow the request. Absent a compelling interest by the public to produce thousands of pages of documents which typically contain substantial amounts of personal privacy information, we asked you to review HUD OIG's listing of closed investigations summarized on our website at https://www.hudoig.gov/freedom-information-act-foia/foia-reading-room and return a narrowed list of ROI's (1 to 5) which prioritizes cases you believe have the highest news worthiness while maintaining an unclogged FOIA request queue for you and all other individuals seeking HUD OIG records.

The attached letters were sent to you explaining all of this. Because you never responded to the September 10th letter, it was assumed that you lost interest in the request so that request was closed administratively. You are free to submit a new narrowed FOIA request at any time. You are also, of course, able to make a new FOIA request for all investigations for 2023 and 2024 but that request will take a substantial amount time (more than 12 months) to fully process where you could expect to receive a rolling production of 1 or 2 ROI's each month in a manner consistent with how we processed your request for the closed investigation in the state of Rhode Island for you under 24-IGF-OIG-137.

Respectfully, Doug

Apologies. I should have put my reading glasses on. It was a case closed on May 14, not May 15. See attached.
