Such a description will allow us to better understand the parameters of this FOIA office’s ability to respond to this request as worded and will better enable us to reorganize and limit it as appropriate.
-----
Additional clarification:
This request is not intended for materials regarding one particular subject or event during this period.
If a different search procedure will be required dependent on segment of time covered, it would be greatly appreciated if a response could contain a description of the necessary difference in approach by time period (for example, if file keeping procedures have changed at some point in the last year and a half or if particular materials have been moved to another location).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Ms. Lipton,
I have received your request for media handling by the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency. We were previously titled the Biometrics Identity Management Agency, but this was changed in October 2012 as forensics was added to our responsibilities. We are a small Field Operating Agency under the Office of the Provost Marshal. We don't normally deal with media inquiries and it took me some effort who to refer that portion of your request. So, I've forwarded your request to the US Army Chief of Public Affairs.
I have initiated a search request for the emails for the senior members of our agency looking for any guidance on this information. This request is being processed by DISA, and they provide no estimate on the completion. I will get that to you as soon I receive it.
Your request has been entered into our FACTS database and assigned the case number of FP-18-01478.

Beryl,
A personal request since you are a MuckRock employee. As I said in our emails about your March Madness event, BIMA no longer exists. Our FOIA office is in the US Army, Office of the Provost Marshal General. I submitted the update below in the MuckRock website with my user account (Davidpens). I believe in the freedom of information and I want to make sure that it works as smoothly as possible. Would you mind following up to help ensure that the update is made.
Many thanks!!
--submitted on MuckRock site--
This agency no longer exists, the Biometrics Identity Management Agency (BIMA) was replaced by the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA) under Headquarters, US Army, Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG). OPMG is the POC and Initial Denial Authority (IDA) for FOIA requests for DFBA. Submissions to BIMA may be delayed while they get routed properly within the OPMG office. As MuckRock is many people's first stop in filing these requests, this update will assist both the requesters and the agency. Thanks.
