Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
The Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) including all Fitness Report and Counseling forms (NAVPERS Form 1610/2), the most recent Cumulative Record Of Training (NAVPERS Form 5300/16), listing of all unit assignments in chronological order, the Background Summary (NAVPERS Form 1640/32), and Form DD-214, for Joseph Maguire. Mr Maguire claims to have served for thirty years in the United States Navy as a Naval officer from 1974 to 2010. Please redact any sensitive information protected in accordance with Executive Order 12958 or the Privacy Act of 1974.
Joseph Maguire is a nominee for Director, National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), a senior executive service position in the United States federal government, responsible to combat terrorist threats to the United States. Maguire is considered a government and military expert by the mainstream media and there is a need to inform the public of his qualifications and experience for this senior government position. Please respond with an estimation of the amount of time it will take to process the request if possible.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
