FOIA Officer:
Thank you for your response. Could you please advise on how I might specify my request? Would more details about the specifics of the SecureDrop software help, or perhaps narrowing the date range?
Thanks and best,

From: Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate

Dear Mr. or Ms. Higgins:

It is always a good idea to include as much detail as possible in a Freedom Of Information Act, FOIA, request. FOIA is set up as a process for the search and disclosure of documentation for the purpose of informing the public regarding the operation of the government. Your request as submitted does not provide any contract information or department or office at the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) to search. The request would require a search of every office here at S&T and essentially do a fishing expedition for documentation. This is too onerous on the government to be a reasonably described perfected request. Any narrowing of the request to provide an office, contract number, and date parameters would certainly assist us in conducting a reasonable search.

Mr. Britt,

Thank you for your response. Could you please limit your search to just the Cyber Security Division (CSD)?

Thanks and best,
Camille
