To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on June 25, 2021. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
From: Air Force Space Command
Mr. J. Ader,
This e-mail is in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted 28 June 2021. My apology for the late response because this request was not loaded in our FOIAXpress system and given a FOIA request number. As such, I did not research it until today to provide a response. Your request seeks;
"The latest copy of the Air Force Space Command's Records Retention Schedule. To clarify, the latest iteration of the Air Force Space Command-specific document which highlights how long each internal document type is retained."
I contacted the Air Force Records Manager and they provided the following response.
Air Force Space Command uses the Department of the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) in the Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) and available for the general public. For now, United States Space Force (USSF) said it wanted to keep its administrative overhead light and focus its attention on Space issues, so I do not expect a USSF RDS.
I have included a link to the RDS found on public web site: https://www.af.mil/Portals/1/documents/rds/Apr18RDS.pdf
Questions can be directed to me using the below information.
Respectfully,
//SIGNED//
