From: Emma Best
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Records relating to or mentioning James Jesus Angleton (December 9, 1917 – May 11, 1987), former chief of CIA Counterintelligence. Please include but do not limit the response to security files and liaison files regarding the subject, as well as all materials related to the processing of previous FOIA requests regarding the subject. This should include materials generated by the task force described in the attached document. I request that previously released documents be initially provided, with yet to be processed documents subject to a rolling release.
I am a member of the news media and request classification as such. I have previously written about the government and its activities, with some reaching over 100,000 readers. As such, as I have a reasonable expectation of publication and my editorial and writing skills are well established. In addition, I discuss and comment on the files online and make them available through non-profits such as the Internet Archive and MuckRock, disseminating them to a large audience.
As my primary purpose is to inform about government activities by reporting on it and making the raw data available, I request that fees be waived. Note that the FBI has previously stated in writing that the files are and will be of "great interest" to the media and the public.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Emma Best

I am appealing the integrity of the response, as the files do not cover the full scope of the request as written. Further, the preprocessed files on James Angleton are incomplete and represent only a fraction of what the Bureau has previously released on him. Additionally, my request specifically stated that it was not limited to preprocessed files. Finally, the Bureau failed to provide a cover letter explaining the release and its current status (i.e. whether further releases were forthcoming).

Yes I want the additional files. This was clear in the original request and follow-ups and appeals sent since then. https://www.muckrock.com/foi/united-states-of-america-10/james-angleton-redux-and-foia-task-force-federal-bureau-of-investigation-57251/#comm-634297
