To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
I hereby request any and all documents related to the murder of Dr. Haing Samnang Ngor, an American citizen who was murdered in Los Angeles on February 25, 1996. A former refugee, Ngor was originally from Cambodia.
Ngor was an actor, who won an Academy Award for his role in the 1984 film, "The Killing Fields," about Cambodia's communist extremists, known as the Khmer Rouge. As such, there were concerns that group may have assassinated him on US soil.
At the time of his death, Ngor was considering running for high office in Cambodia, and I request information related to his political ambitions (for the Khmer Nation Party) be included in your disclosure.
Ngor was due to attend a fundraising luncheon, in April 1996, with President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. Please include relevant documents related to this element of the investigation.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
