Dear Mr. Best:
Thank you for writing to the National Archives and Records Administration.
This is in response to your recent Freedom of Information Act request dated
April 02, 2017 in regards to several Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
case files on *Timothy Leary*. It was received in this office April 05,
2017 and was originally assigned FOIA case tracking number *RD 52658*.
I am writing to you because you requested FBI case file *100-HQ-481974,
serials 75x, PTT, 740-750, 68*. I located this case file. The main
subject of this file *James William Taggert, Jr.* However, Timothy Leary
is cited throughout this entire case file, not just the particular serials
that you requested. The file was compiled as part of an internal security
investigation conducted between December 1974 and March 1976.
Are you still interested in these particular serials or the entire case
file?
You may contact me back directly by telephone at 301-837-3042

Dear Mr.
I am writing to you because you requested FBI case file *100-NY-170922-37P1*.
The new FOIA case number for this request is *RD 52913*. I located the
case file. The main subject of this entire case file, not just serial 37
page 1 is Timothy Leary. The file is approximately 200 pages; and was
compiled as part of an internal security investigation conducted between
September 1970 and October 1987.
Are you still interested in this particular serial or the entire case file?
You may contact me back directly by telephone at 301-837-3042
<(301)%20837-3042> or by e-mail at Christina.Jones@nara.gov with that
information.
Thank you,
Christina Violeta Jones, Ph.D.
