This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All invoices, cost estimates, or bills related to the White House and Department of Defense's planned 2018 Veterans Day military parade.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I am a reporter with ThinkProgress, an online publication covering politics and policy in Washington, DC. Given that, I request you waive all associated fees.
Please provide expedited processing of this request which concerns a matter of urgency given the immediate controversy and the public's right to know about the possibility of improper disbursements of funds.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Good afternoon. In response to your April 22, 2019 email inquiry below, your request has been tasked to a component office of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), to conduct a search for responsive records. Currently, the estimated completion date for your request is July 17, 2019. Please know this is an estimate which is subject to change.
You may not be aware that our office processes all incoming FOIA requests on a first-in, first-out, basis, a practice which has been recognized by the courts. Your request will be processed in chronological order based upon the date it was received. Department of Defense FOIA Regulation allows agencies with significant pending requests to process those requests in a multi-track processing system, based upon the date of receipt and the amount of work and time involved in processing the request. In fairness to other requesters, we ask your indulgence in allowing us to function in accordance with existing queues for responding to requests.
