From: Jason Smathers
To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All current interagency Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) or Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) between your agency and any other agency or department.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Jason Smathers

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on Sept. 9, 2013. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thank you for your help.
From: U.S. Mint
A letter stating the requester must agree to or prepay assessed or estimated fees in order for the agency to continue processing the request.
From: Jason Smathers
Can you please provide these results in electronic format? Internet file transfer such as email attachment, Dropbox, or other file sharing program is preferred. Alternatively, an electronic copy or scan of these documents on CD is my next preference.
Please let me know if this is possible and a fee estimate to obtain them in this format.
Thank you.

Can we please discuss this in writing?
Thanks,

I sent you a fee bill and I need to speak with you regarding payment.
From: Jason Smathers
I had asked if you were able to provide the records in electronic format and if so, what the revised fee estimate would be.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Jason
From: Saunders-Mitchell, Kathleen
The fee would remain the same. Duplication still took place.

Your request will also involve many consultations with other government agencies and will be timely. If you would like to discuss revising the scope of your request, feel free to contact me.
From: Jason Smathers
If you have a list of MOU/MOAs already or are willing to create one, I would be willing to accept that instead of a copy of each of them. If you are able to do this, I could then pick and choose items from the list for possible later FOIA requests instead of taking them all up front. Please let me know if this is possible.
From: Saunders-Mitchell, Kathleen
This is doable. I will get this response together and be back in touch.
