Joan,
Apologies for the confusion, this FOIA request was the result of a previous FOIA I submitted to NASA and I received additional material that wasn't included in this release. I'm including a copy of the slides that would also be responsive to this FOIA request.
Is the previous initial response really the complete set of existing documentation that would potentially be responsive to my FOIA on this issue? If so, why weren't these slides included in the initial response?
Please advise.
From: National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Good Morning Ms. Crose:
The response Ms. Joan Belt provided under FOIA case number 19-GSFC-F-00505 was pursuant to a search conducted at our Goddard center. The attached document was produced in response to a FOIA request you submitted to NASA Headquarters. The attached document was provided in your FOIA case number 19-HQ-F-00416. Our FOIA offices are not centralized in a manner to search every centers' records system when a FOIA request is sent to that center. Each center can produce records that are within their possession. For this reason, Ms. Belt was only able to produce what Goddard had in its possession and HQ produced other records in its possession.
Please feel free to call me so I can better explain how we process records and/or if you have any other questions.
Regards,

Okay, thank you for the information, I appreciate it. Are there any other FOIA offices within NASA that this request may be pertinent to that you could suggest?
From: National Aeronautics and Space Administration
I am not sure. Typically, Headquarters would have the most records. But, it could be that other centers may have been affected and as a result may have records. Now, the requested records are from long time ago and it could very well be that they are destroyed pursuant to NASA's records retention policy/schedule.

Would files of this nature not be mandatory to send to the National Archives?
From: National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Hmm! I am not sure. I don't believe these types of records have permanent value, but I am not sure about my response. We typically find out when we do a search if records are still in existence or were destroyed due to records retention policy.

Okay, thank you very much for your help!
