Records detailing closed OIG investigations or other internal investigations during FY20, 21, 22, and 23. Please include a case number, narrative, supporting documents, and other relevant information.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Greetings,
This is in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request 24-00064-F-IG to the United States Department of Education (ED) Office of Inspector General (OIG). We need clarification from you before we can proceed with processing your request.
With respect to your request for “records detailing closed OIG investigations or other internal investigations during FY20, 21, 22, and 23. Please include a case number, narrative, supporting documents, and other relevant information”. You are seeking records and documents which will significantly expand the volume of material we must locate and review which will affect how quickly we can respond.
In the past, similar requests for investigations have first asked for a listing of those investigations for a given period. The requester then later requests copies only of the reports that are of particular interest. A listing can normally be provided promptly. Requests for particular reports can more easily be processed if attachments and supporting material are excluded from the requests and additional material for a particular report can be requested later.
To summarize, please let us know if for the requested time period you would amend your request for only a listing of reports so that you may choose which specific reports you would like documentation and that the documentation may be requested at a later date.
A response by Friday, March 22, 2024 would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. I think thats a great idea. Could I amend the request to simply be a list of cases for FY20, 21, 22, and 23. If possible, could that list include some narrative information about the nature of the case and how it was adjudicated. Feel free to call me to discuss.
