This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Any emails or presentations concerning "Operation Burnt Frost," the mission to shoot down NRO satellite USA-193, on February 20, 2008.
I am requesting these documents in my capacity as a journalist. Here are some of my prior stories on the military and intelligence dimensions of space:

We made a release back in 2009. I'm searching for what we released, but I'm having a difficult time finding the file. I believe since we were keeping FOIA files for a shorter time-period prior to last year, the file may have been disposed of.

Well sir, I've found where we processed a request back in 2008. I have the
response memo to the requester and the tasking memo to offices to conduct
searches in electronic form. Evidently there were 41 pages we partially
released, but I cannot find them. I think the hardcopy file met its
disposition date and was destroyed.
That said, looks like we'll have to start from scratch. I'll get your request
logged in and tasked out to the appropriate offices for search.

Sir,
Two TOP SECRET//SI presentations were delivered yesterday to my office. Although document searches continue, I have 12 other backlogged requests ahead of yours that are in various stages of processing. Due to us having to start from scratch with your request, I estimate a possible completion date of 30 October.
My apologies for the delay, but I'm a one person office and have to process requests on a first in, first out basis.
I will keep you updated when/if other documents trickle in.

I have an email that I'd like to release to you that has a few links to various records, but the email contains names and contact information that will be withheld under FOIA exemption 6. With your permission, may I redact that information as non-responsive? Doing so will speed up the processing of this one email by upwards of 30 days as it will have to go to our initial denial authority if you'd rather not allow it.
