From: Dillon Bergin
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of the Army's Personnel Files (OMPF) for a former service member named Paul Worsfold (US Army, 1986-1991), DOB: 06/29/1964.
The public interest in Paul Worsfold, who is running for political office, should favor disclosure of many of these records, particularly in relation to any disciplinary records, should those records exist.
Please be sure to review and release any segregable information, even if certain documents or portions of documents are withheld.
PLEASE NOTE: I am not a next of kin of this servicemember, and thus do not know Worsfold's Social Security Number. Because of this, I am ONLY requesting records releasable under the Freedom of Information Act. Please process my request for this servicemember's OMPF and other records under the Freedom of Information Act’s relevant provisions. I am not seeking any records that would be releasable under the Privacy Act.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. Furthermore, I am a member of the news media and this request is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Dillon Bergin

Hello,
I would like to confirm that this response from the NPRC means that the search for this service member's personnel file was unsuccessful with the information I supplied: name, date of birth, dates of service and branch of military. The only information that leaves from the list provided is the service member's social security. Thus, I would like to further confirm that the search was unsuccessful using all the information I supplied and can only be completed with this service member's social security number. Is that correct?
Best,
Dillon Bergin
