This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Records relating to Operation PBFORTUNE, also known as Operation FORTUNE, a covert operation to overthrow Jacobo Árbenz in 1952.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Michael Best

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on Jan. 1, 2016. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.

I hereby withdraw and close this request. I will file separate requests in the future that are more specific regarding the topics and documents that I desire since, as noted by your office, they cover several topics, missions and operations spanning at least 10 years (the period apparently searched).
In the future, please endeavor not to use the landscape view while printing papers unless absolutely necessary. It is far harder to read and, in the instance of this list, does nothing to improve the formatting or legibility.
Also, please do not combine requests for separate operations as you did with my requests for files relating to PBFORTUNE and PBHISTORY. It is inappropriate and counterproductive.
Thank you.
