I am appealing the decision to not perform an actual search. I was sent previously processed records, and attempted to file a follow-up FOIA for additional information. The Bureau did not perform the original search, and is now claiming that lack of a search precludes a search from being conducted here. In other words, the Bureau is claiming that because of a prior disclosure, they do not have to search for records now. The Bureau's decision to do this in response to a FOIA request investigating alleged wrong-doing by the Bureau (based on the Bureau's own documents!) is especially alarming, and once again indicates a lack of good faith on the part of the Department of Justice.
