This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All emails, including attachments, to or from RDML Margaret G. Kibben sent between 1/19/2014 and 1/25/2014.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
We had some delays when changing over to our new FOIA email but it should now be working properly. Our new email address, for status checks, is hqmcfoia@usmc.mil. If this happens again you can also find our new email address on our FOIA page http://www.hqmc.marines.mil/Agencies/USMCFOIA.aspx.
As you may be aware, the Navy and Marine Corps have implemented a new FOIAOnline tool through which members of the public can submit FOIA requests online. A number of federal agencies are using it, and ours went into effect on February 1, 2014. Submitting your requests online will result in more efficient processing and a faster response for you.
The new website is very easy to use and you can create an account, which enables us to correspond within the website. You would not have to re-enter your details every time you submit a request and, if you happen to misplace a response, you can check back with FOIAOnline without having to resubmit the request. To use the online system, please go to https://foiaonline.regulations.gov/foia/action/public/home.
As for your request number 2014-002805, we have received responsive records and have determined that some of them are releasable. We will send you a final response when processing is complete.
