This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Files relating to, mentioning or describing Ronald Wilson Reagan (February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004) was an American politician and actor, who served as the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Prior to his presidency, he served as the 33rd Governor of California from 1967 to 1975, following a career as a Hollywood actor and union leader. His death has been widely and extensively reported. I am specifically requesting all files relating to his status as an informant for the FBI be included, and that all field offices be searched - however this should be construed as a limitation on the scope of my request. I request that a new search be performed in addition to providing any previously released files.
I request that all fees be waived. As President Reagan was POTUS, Governor and an informant for the FBI any files released will obviously improve the public understanding of government operations and activities. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. The files will be made available through MuckRock and the non-profit Internet Archive, and used for news and analysis purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
