Communications
From: Christopher Tidmarsh
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Copies of any and all written records or communications sent to or from Administrator Emily W. Murphy between November 7, 2020 and the date that the General Services Administration (GSA) formally recognizes former Vice President and current President-Elect Joseph R. "Joe" Biden as the winner of the 2020 U.S. presidential election (inclusive of those two dates) which contain any of the following words or phrases (case-insensitive):
-"Biden"
-"Harris"
-"ascertainment"
-"election"
-"transition"
-"President-Elect"
I ask that all fees for this FOIA request be waived because it is in the public interest to know what is preventing the GSA from helping to provide for a peaceful transition of power after the incumbent president's defeat in the 2020 presidential election. A peaceful transition of power is important to any healthy democracy, and the absence of a peaceful transition is a sign that the rule of law is deteriorating in a country.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Christopher Tidmarsh

Hello,
I am appealing the (b)(5) redaction in the document you released to me as part of FOIA request GSA-2021-000215.
The reason I am appealing is because it is important to know whether then-president Donald Trump attempted to interfere in the affairs of the General Services Administration (GSA) to force it to delay its ascertainment of then-President-Elect, and current President, Joe Biden. The context for these suspicions is the following articles which describe improper attempts by Mr. Trump to force state officials to illegally overturn the election results in battleground states that Mr. Biden won:
https://apnews.com/ff6433613b075158691797812347f6c6
Therefore, it is important to know whether Mr. Trump or his White House was similarly exerting improper influence on the GSA. I believe that declassifying the (b)(5) redaction mentioned above would help answer that question. Therefore, I am appealing the (b)(5) redaction.
Sincerely,
Christopher Tidmarsh

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on Nov. 10, 2020. You had assigned it reference number #GSA-2021-000215.
I received a notification two days ago, on Nov. 6, 2020, that my FOIAonline user account would be deactivated in 5 days due to inactivity. However, I sent your office a notification on January 23, 2021 that I intended to appeal the (b)(5) redaction in the documents you sent me. I am attaching a screenshot of the message I sent your office. Did you receive it? If so, is my appeal currently being processed?
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
Sincerely,
Christopher Tidmarsh
