Ms. Lytwynec,
The CBP FOIA office is reaching out concerning request CBP-2018-068082, which was recently sent directly to the Houlton Border Patrol Sector. We have uploaded this request and created the tracking number referenced in the subject line.
Your request as written is overly broad and we need to establish some parameters if possible. First, we need to confirm that your request is for the Houlton Sector only, and not the entire Office of Border Patrol or the entire CBP agency. Second, we would like to establish a date range for which you are looking for e-mails. In the past year, since a certain date, or some other range. Third, it would be helpful if you had a name or position/title that our office could use as a starting point for our search, which we could then expand upon based on records that are located.
Please note that CBP employs nearly 60,000 individuals and a search of the entire mail system for keywords, with no date range or other limiting factors, would constitute an unreasonable burden on the resources of our agency. Because this request was not filed electronically, it can not be updated through the system on your end. As such, please call the CBP FOIA main number at 202-325-0150. Please reference request CBP-2018-068082, and provide as much information as you are able, to better narrow the scope of your request. We will then update the request and send it out for a search.
If we do not hear from you within 10 business days, the request will be administratively closed.
Thank you
CBP FOIA Office
