Mr. Spies,
We have received some responsive records, however at this time we are
waiting for more to be delivered. Therefore we are still coordinating with
the appropriate program office. After we received all responsive records,
processing will begin to carefully review the content of those records to
identify any exempt information. No clarification or additional
information is needed from you.
Please know that we are arduously working to get the responsive records to
you as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience and contacting our office.

Thanks, Cindy. It seems the program office has been taking an abnormally long time to respond. What's the reason?

From: Mike Spies
Hi. Rather than call the Interior Department again, I wanted to put the following in writing: my records request (OS-2017-00574) has been stuck in the same holding pattern for months. It has now gotten to the point where the delay is no longer reasonable, especially because, for whatever reason, it is just a small group of people (or is it a single person?) that has been holding up my request--that is the only explanation I've been provided, and it's not a very good one. I've been very patient, but my patience is now wearing thin. If I don't receive records this week--records that have already been identified--I am going to involve a lawyer. I don't mean that as a threat, but merely a statement of fact.
Thanks,
Mike Spies
