Communications
From: Patrick Mackie
To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting administrative communication documents for every closed SIGAR Investigation from fiscal year 2015 to the date this request is processed. I am requesting documents (for FY 2015 to date my request is processed) similar to those released in FOIA # 2014-F-004. Below you mention in denial of # 2016-F-030 that those documents are "the delivered records were administrative communication documents and not ROIs." This request is requesting the administrative communication documents.
Below is denial of # 2016-F-030 and the FOIA # 2014-F-004 for reference.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Patrick Mackie

Hi Patrick,
Please see the attached update letter for your records. The process is particularly slow at the moment (holidays), but I suspect it shouldn't take much longer.

Thank you! Tell whoever went over the documents a special thanks as I'm sure 500 pages is tough or at least tedious.
1) I was wondering if any of the documentation of any of the closed investigations can be released via FOIA? Specifically transcriptions of interviews conducted or any other documentation?
- Patrick

Morning Patrick!
Unfortunately I don't have a good answer - it just depends on the specific document(s). All federal records are subject to the FOIA, but interview transcripts (especially those related to investigations) may need to be protected under one or more of the FOIA exemptions.
