All facility video from the Torrance County Detention Facility beginning at 12:01 a.m. on April 23, 2024, and continuing through 11:59 p.m. on April 23, 2024.

Please see the attached letter from CoreCivic's counsel referring this request to ICE under 8 CFR 236.6.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Can you please confirm in writing that ICE has initiated the process to ensure the records underlying this request (video from Torrance on the ICE side) are preserved so that if you sustain the FOIA office’s determination, a court will be able to review that decision and grant relief in the event it determines it was mistaken?

CoreCivic’s counsel, Jacob Lee of Struck Love, instructed me to FOIA these records and then informed me CoreCivic does not intend to preserve them. We have notified CoreCivic, and I am now notifying ICE, that these records may be the subject of litigation and should not be destroyed.
