I am requesting materials from Christine Hurlburts case that has sense gone cold. The DA office, local and state police have all stated this is not an open case that any of them are working on. Per the FOIA these are public information and there should be no reason to hold them back except for the autopsy report, which is not public information. This case has gone unsolved and local agencies have no plan to reopen this case so I would like clarification why these documents are being denied. If the documents need to be redacted before their release to protect sensitive information that is understandable, but there should be no reason the entire file is denied when it is public information.
