From: Christine Trudeau
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All Interior Department statistics, datasets, reports, and documents the U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland referenced on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, when Secretary Haaland said that of the Department of the Interior employees who died of the coronavirus, 80 percent worked in the Bureau of Indian Affairs. This is paraphrasing from Indian Country Today's article stating, "Haaland shared that 80 percent of the Interior employees who died from the coronavirus worked in Indian Affairs, a bureau that is heavily made up of Indigenous employees." The full article is attached as a pdf to this FOIA request and linked to here: https://indiancountrytoday.com/news/deb-haalands-visit-home-grandparents-prayers.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Christine Trudeau
