"Good afternoon--This is to acknowledge the receipt of your request for records and to let you know that I am the analyst assigned for processing.

Please be advised that a FOIA request must meet certain criteria before it may be considered "perfected". One criterion is that a requester must indicate, in writing, their willingness to pay for reasonably incurred processing costs. See 32 C.F.R. § 701.8(a)(1). In this instance, we have categorized you as an "other requester" for the purpose of assessing FOIA processing fees. As such, you are entitled to two hours of search time and 100 pages of duplication free of charge but are responsible for the payment of any fees beyond that. Fees are currently assessed at $24.00 per hour for clerical search, $48.00 per hour for professional search, and $.15 per page for photocopy duplication. See 32 C.F.R. § 286 Subpart F.

Because your request does not include the information above, it cannot be considered "perfected" at this time. We will hold the request in abeyance for 30 calendar days from the date of this email, pending the receipt of the requested information. Otherwise, we will administratively close your request.

Thank you,
Kheli
