Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

All materials related to social media ad buys for the recruiting purposes associated with any branch of the U.S. Military or Department of Defense. We are specifically looking for records indicating how much money was spent on these ad buys, and what demographics were targeted by the ads.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Sir/Madam:

We are in receipt of your request for "all materials related to social media ad buys for the recruiting purposes associated with any branch of the U.S. Military or Department of Defense.[particularly] indicating how much money was spent on these ad buys, and what demographics were targeted by the ads."

Our activity - NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Philadelphia Detachment (FLC Phila) - provides procurement support to the Department of the Navy. Therefore, your request is overly broad. Any records we hold that could conceivably be responsive to your request would solely be of a procurement nature (i.e., Contracts awarded by our activity to contractors involved in recruiting). Therefore, kindly clarify whether such records (i.e., Contracts for recruiting procurements) would be responsive to your request. Additionally, if such records are responsive , it would be very helpful if you could provide a specific timeframe encompassed by your request (e.g., recruiting contracts issued by FLC Phila within the past five years).
