This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All correspondence (including emails, memos, letters and other correspondence) between the US Attorney's Office of Massachusetts and the US Marshals office in Boston as well as US Marshals headquarters regarding concerns over information leaks pertaining to high-profile trials, including the Tsarnaev and Whitey Bulger trials. Please provide such correspondence between January 2013 and December 2016.
At minimum, please search correspondence to and from the following individuals:
US Attorney Carmen Ortiz
First Assistant US Attorney John McNeil
Assistant US Attorney Nadine Pellegrini
US Marshal John Gibbons
Chief Deputy US Marshal Jon Murray
As this request is submitted in my capacity as a professional reporter who covers the Justice Department, I assert that I am appropriately categorized as a media requester for the purpose of fees. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
