Record request #22-1818 has been closed. The closure reason supplied was:
Dear Mr. Nash,
Pursuant to Virginia Code § 2.2-3704, the requested records do not exist in the Department's files. You requested information regarding the automated license plate readers (ALPR) utilized by the Virginia State Police (VSP). The ALPR information accessed by the VSP is a daily “snapshot” of reads from midnight to 11:59 PM. In an average 24 hour period there are about 500,000 reads. This varies depending on the season and day of the week. The VSP does not retain this information, nor does it retain analyses about hits, alarms, hot lists, resulting stops, resulting citations, arrests, or other actions. We regret we are unable to assist you further in this matter but hope the information provided is helpful.
