Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Please provide the hearing binder (containing the DC-1, reporting agency communications, any supporting information provided before or as exhibit materials during the hearing, and any outcome documentation and results) for the following VA police officers whose decertifications were appealed:
Troy Hinchey (Washington County Sheriff's Office)
Jason Kirk (Virginia State Police)
Eric Allen (Richmond Police)
Jason Davis (Buchanan County Sheriff's Office)
Polly Griffin (VCU Police)
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

This office is in receipt of your request which we received on March 4, 2024, made in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Virginia Code § 2.2-3700 et seq.), in which you are requesting "the hearing binder (containing the DC-1, reporting agency communications, any supporting information provided before or as exhibit materials during the hearing, and any outcome documentation and results) for the following VA police officers whose decertifications were appealed for: Troy Hinchey (Washington County Sheriff's Office), Jason Kirk (Virginia State Police), Eric Allen (Richmond Police), Jason Davis (Buchanan County Sheriff's Office), and Polly Griffin (VCU Police)".
Pursuant to §2.2-3704, a public body may assess a charge to recover costs for searching, accessing, supplying, and duplicating records. The estimated cost to produce the records you requested is $60 (employee X 2 hours @ $30 per hour). Please let me know if you wish to proceed.
