Dear Volusia County Sheriff's Office,

I am writing to formally request access to the bodycam footage under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) related to the assault on a school resource officer at Deltona Middle School on 11/1/2024.

Incident Details for Footage Retrieval:

Date: 11/1/2024
Location: Deltona Middle School, Deltona, Florida
Suspects: Jorge Rivera (46) and Dagmarie Aponte Iturrino (45)
Incident Summary: The suspects, parents of a student, allegedly attacked and punched a school resource officer after a dispute over their son being charged with battery. The officer was shoved, punched in the face, and suffered a concussion during the altercation.
I am requesting copies of all body-worn camera footage from officers who responded to the scene and interacted with the suspects during the incident and arrest.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

You may be able to get this video through discovery with the state attorney if you need it for court.
