Date: July 1, 2023
Location: 600 block of Clark Street, Daytona Beach, FL
Suspect: Nichole Maks, 37
Incident Summary:
Nichole Maks was arrested for the murder of her 79-year-old roommate, Michael Cerasoli. Authorities responded to a fire at the residence, where Cerasoli was found deceased with blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds. Maks was later located at a restaurant in Holly Hill, where she was found with blood on her clothing and in possession of a knife and hammer. During her post-Miranda interview, she attempted to destroy potential evidence by pouring Diet Mountain Dew on herself. She was charged with second-degree murder, resisting arrest with violence, arson, and tampering with physical evidence.
I am requesting copies of all body-worn camera footage from officers who:
First made contact with Nichole Maks.
Took her into custody at the restaurant in Holly Hill.
Transported her to the station and recorded her post-Miranda interview.
Were involved in securing evidence and handling the tampering incident.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
